Pigeons and ferrets together on film? Yes! The Ferret Squad is the second film
from director Alison Parker. After the success of Jake and Jasper: A Ferret Tale,
she chose to make a full length film about a young boy named Max (played by Smallville's
Connor Stanhope), who smuggles his pet ferret into California - where ferrets
are not legal as pets. He befriends his next door neighbor, a man named Jarvis
Bains (played by 2012's Blu Mankuma) who houses homing pigeons. Notably, his favorite
pigeon is named Cher Ami, after the famous pigeon WWII hero. Jarvis helps Max
and the Ferret Squad fight against authority to save the lives of their beloved
pets. Parker's intention is to change people's misconceptions about the nature
of ferrets. The movie will also demonstrate the rules of proper ferret care and
the vital need for ferret rescues and shelters. Sharing this film will hopefully
assist the efforts of those fighting to overturn the legislation in California
that currently bans owners from keeping pet ferrets. It is a family friendly film
with a wonderful message about the importance of standing up for your beliefs
and fighting for what you cherish. Currently, this movie is raising funds to begin
production, and could use any help you could give. Donations can be made through
